  • Popular pale ale back on Avanti West Coast services this month

  • Brewed by Macclesfield based brewery RedWillow on West Coast Main Line route

  • Part of Avanti West Coast’s support for local businesses and enterprises

A pale ale is being served on Avanti West Coast services after it was brought back by popular demand.

Tilting Ale, made specially for the train operator by RedWillow Brewery in Macclesfield, went back on sale this month (February).

The ale has a loyal fanbase, with many customers asking if it was going to make a return.

Now available at the on-board shop, the British pale ale has a new look whilst retaining the light hoppy taste which has proved a hit with customers and connoisseurs alike.

The famous RedWillow Brewery sits alongside the west coast route, less than half a mile south of Macclesfield station.

Rob Taylor, Avanti West Coast’s Food and Beverage Development Lead, said: “Real ale continues to grow in popularity and it’s great to be able to partner with a brewery so close to one of our stations on our route. We’re delighted to have Tilting Ale on Avanti West Coast.”

The partnership with the brewery is an example of Avanti West Coast’s commitment to supporting local businesses and enterprises.

Co-Founder Toby Mckenzie said: “Tilting Ale has been part of the RedWillow story, and this new partnership is a big boost, one that will give us the confidence to grow the business further.

He added: “We are striving hard to introduce real quality ale to a much wider audience, and where better than on Avanti West Coast services which passes right by the brewery.”

About RedWillow Brewery

Cheshire based RedWillow Brewery has developed a growing reputation for quality British ale since its inception back in 2010. Set up by husband and wife Toby and Caroline McKenzie, the brewery has gone from strength to strength with the simple aim to make beer that is big in flavour, well-balanced and above all something that people love to drink.

With many awards already under their belt, RedWillow moved to new premises in September 2015 right alongside the west coast main line in Macclesfield.  Continued growth, including the opening of two bars in Buxton and Macclesfield and a new canning facility, has seen the team grow, with many of the staff recruited locally.

Tilting Ale is brewed specially for Avanti West Coast.
